We are excited to be recruiting a Social Care Assistant for our fantastic Social Care Team in Epsom General Hospital
Our diverse team is committed to making a positive difference to our residents' lives. In return we will provide you with the training, excellent supervision, and development opportunities to progress your career.
About the role
Epsom General Hospital. In this fast-paced role you will be part of a team that supports people to be discharged from both Epsom General Hospital and St Helier Hospital. Using your assessment skills, and liaising with wards, health colleagues, care agencies, and families, you will be involved in arranging timely discharges for the people we work with, sometimes under the Discharge to Assess model. This will ensure that they receive the right level of support to promote their wellbeing, independence, choice, and control, in line with the Care Act. It's a cliché but no two days are the same and every working day ends with you knowing that you are making a positive difference to people's lives. You will receive excellent training and the opportunity to progress your career by building on your existing knowledge and experience while developing new skills. The role does require occasional weekend working.
To be successful in this role you will enjoy working with people and have experience of direct work with the public as part of paid or voluntary work. Previous experience of visiting people in their own homes or care settings, while desirable, is not essential.
In your application, we would love to hear about your:
- Understanding of Adult Social Care needs and any experience you may have in this area.
- Experience of working directly with the public.
- Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, colleagues, and the public effectively.
- IT skills with a willingness to learn to use a variety of software systems.
Applicants must hold a valid Driving Licence to drive in the UK and have access to a car or be able to demonstrate how you will meet the travelling requirements of the role.
The job advert closes at 23:59 on 03/12/2023.
Interviews will take place on 12/12/2023.
Part-time will also be considered.
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
