Are you passionate about making a difference and supporting families that need help? Can you engage effectively with a range of people? Do you have experience working within a multi-agency context, assessing need and bringing people together?

Woking Borough Council is recruiting a Family Coordinator (on an 18 month fixed term contract) to join its diverse team in supporting refugee families to resettle. We are looking for a Ukrainian speaking staff member who is highly skilled, dynamic and committed, to join our team and work effectively and meaningfully with refugee families in Woking. The Woking Family Support Team provides innovative support to families and engages in multi-agency working to bring about holistic and targeted intervention.

Family Coordinators are required to quickly build trust and rapport, helping families to avoid homelessness and move productively forward. Applicants will have experience of working in a relevant field such as child or adult social care, community policing, probation, health, education, housing and homelessness prevention, youth work or work with parents. Strong empathy and communication skills are imperative

Applicants will be passionate, assertive, organised and committed to multi-agency working, with strong skills in mediation, assessment and intervention and used to working within set timeframes. We are committed to developing our staff and full, robust training and support will be provided.

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups including children, successful applicants will be required to obtain an enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.

Woking Borough Council take a robust approach to thoroughly checking anyone who has applied to work with vulnerable groups including children.

It is also a requirement for this role that applicants hold a valid full UK Driving License.
