Finance Assistant
The hourly rate for this role is £14.15 per hour plus an additional annual leave allowance.
As a bank contract there are no set hours for this role; hours and location of work will be mutually agreed with the hiring manager in advance. Your office location is likely to be either Quadrant Court in Woking or Consort House in Redhill.
The Children, Families and Learning Directorate provides a range of highly specialist services to children and young people who are vulnerable and/or have special educational needs, including complex disabilities or additional needs such as English as a second language. Services are delivered directly to children and their families, to early years settings, to schools and alternative education settings within extensive statutory frameworks.
As a Finance Assistant you will provide co-ordinated and comprehensive financial support throughout the Directorate in accordance with the County and Directorate Financial Procedures.
This role supports the budget planning and monitoring activities for the Directorate budget. You will work collaboratively with team members to provide a high quality and efficient finance service to support the Directorate's overall aim to improve outcomes for children.
Finance Assistants undertake routine financial functions, use SAP and assist in the accountancy cycle of budget monitoring and closure of accounts. You will play a key role in the provision of a high quality and responsive finance service to operational teams and front-line staff. Continuously applying improvements to increase customer satisfaction, you will work collaboratively to maintain a consistency of approach across the Directorate.
In this role you will work together with the Finance Team Leader and Senior Finance Assistant to establish objectives and take responsibility for managing a workload; organising and prioritising work to meet strict financial deadlines. You will provide regular updates on workload status and raise any potential problems in meeting deadlines. You will work as part of a team and build positive relationships with team members and practitioners.
