Adoption Social Worker
The starting salary for this role is £36,282 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
Adoption South East (ASE) is a regional adoption agency launched on April 1st 2020 which delivers adoption services on behalf of four local authorities: Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove under a partnership agreement.
We currently have a 12-month fixed term maternity cover position available in our Woking office.
ASE operates a 'hub and spoke' model, meaning that we have a small central hub in Lewes, East Sussex, and four spokes or offices; one in each local authority. Staff are all employed on local terms and conditions, and in this instance, the successful applicants would be employed by Surrey County Council with a base at Quadrant Court in Woking. However, our staff adopt hybrid working; using Windows 10 devices and Microsoft Office365 to enable them to work flexibly in ASE offices, at home and out in the community.
Social Workers in the team undertake stage 2 adoption assessments, run training sessions and information events for prospective adopters, undertake family finding for children with adoption plans, and adoption support assessments. We work closely with local authority Children's Teams and other partner agencies such as CAMHS and independent adoption support providers to secure best outcomes.
To be considered for shortlisting for this position your CV and personal statement will need to clearly evidence:
- That you are a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England
- Knowledge of adoption practice and legislation
- Strong commitment to securing permanency for children through adoption
- Use of research and evidence-based practice
- Commitment to inclusive practice
- Ability to work autonomously
This role will require travel around the county, so you will need to have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The job advert closes at 23:59 on 12/04/2023.
Interviews will take place in person at our Woking offices on the 20th April 2023.
