The starting salary for this role is £41,127 per annum, based on working 36-hours per week.

The Surrey Pension Team have started a new chapter with a refreshed vision and mission and ambitious plans for the future. Our vision is to provide our customers with a better tomorrow, and our mission is to responsibly deliver a first-class customer experience.

Our newly redesigned workforce is integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future and we are looking for a Communications and Training Manager to join our team as we continue our transformation journey.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Change Management, you will have responsibility for designing and delivering a capability and communication strategy to ensure that we deliver our exciting ambitions; the role will adopt the Surrey Pension Team culture of strong standards and accountability in order to responsibly deliver a first-class customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include engaging senior leaders in the Pensions Team and temper feedback with external analysis to understand the current and future capability landscape. You will also have input in the Pensions workforce strategy to clarify mechanisms for retaining and growing talent in the context of the capability strategy. Alongside this, you will identify core capabilities and competence gaps and gain alignment from key stakeholders on the capability strategy priorities. Designing efficient and effective learning resources, you will use technical expertise of theories and modern models of adult learning and behaviour change. In addition, you will keep abreast of competitor activities and industry best practice.

You will develop and implement effective and engaging communications activities, as well as campaigns for external customers and stakeholders against a strategic communications plan. You will also ensure consistency of voice and brand messaging in communications harmonised with our vision and mission. In addition, you will create targeted, timely and engaging communications using a variety of channels and models. Whilst developing strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, you will remain customer focused on communication delivery, including using project planning techniques to deliver project and actively manage project budgets.

About you:

To be considered for interview, you will clearly evidence:

  • Experience in devising and implementing an inspiring capability strategy
  • Experience in creating and delivering focused, engaging, customer centric communication channels (internal and external)

Your ability to demonstrate our Vision and Mission and work within a "one pensions team" culture is also crucial to our success.
