Electoral Services Assistant
Epsom and Ewell Borough Council is seeking a confident and enthusiastic candidate to join our Democratic Services team, working at the heart of our Council and contributing to the effective delivery of democratic processes, including elections.
The Electoral Services Assistant will play a key role in the administration of the Electoral Register and preparing for the Borough Council Elections on 4 May 2023. You will work as part of a small friendly team in a challenging and busy environment.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with a great attention to detail. You need to be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to predetermined deadlines.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Processing of electoral registration, absent voting and voter identification document application forms
- Dealing tactfully with all public enquiries via email, telephone and in person
- Effectively communicating registration options with all existing and potential new voters
- Organisation of elements of the May 2023 Borough Council elections
Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential, as is the ability to work confidently with a variety of IT applications and systems. We use Microsoft Office 365 and Civica (Xpress) elections management software.
This role is a 6 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension or permanency.
