Emergency Planning Officer
About the Role
Are you an emergency planning professional, passionate about resilience and with experience of supporting the delivery of statutory emergency planning responsibilities? If so, this is the role for you!
The Emergency Planning Officer plays a key role in the delivery of the Council’s statutory Emergency Planning and Business Continuity responsibilities in ensuring that the Council maintains operational and strategic readiness to respond to a range of emergency incidents. The role is an exciting one at the heart of an ambitious local authority. It offers significant scope for growth and development and for the successful candidate to make it their own.
About the Person
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of Emergency Planning gained within a statutory or public sector context
- Is able to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment
- Is highly motivated and capable
- Thrives on variety, pace and challenge
- Is a proactive and organised self-starter, who can plan and prioritise their workload effectively
- Has good knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and the response structures within which local authorities operate, particularly as these evolve and change
