Adults Occupational Therapist and Senior Occupational Therapist - Runnymede

Our fantastic Runnymede Locality Team are very excited to be looking to recruit to the following positions:

• 1 x full-time permanent Senior Occupational Therapist (part-time applications will be considered).
• 1 x part-time permanent Occupational Therapist.

The salary offer for our Occupational Therapist is as follows:

• Occupational Therapist - £18,141.00 per annum based on an 18 hour working week (pro-rata to full-time salary of £36,282 - £40,146 per annum based on a 36 hour working week).
• Senior Occupational Therapist - £ 41,127- £ 45,519 per annum based on a 36 hour working week (pro-rata for part-time hours).

Applicants must hold a valid Driving Licence and have access to a car.

For Occupational Therapist roles: this diverse role will facilitate your development and equip you with a range of skills to enable you to undertake frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting. You will have the opportunity to put into practice the legislation underpinning, and build your professional experience of, major adaptations, and moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, with the aim of supporting and empowering our clients to live meaningful lives within the community.

Our Occupational Therapists have told us that career development is of huge importance to them. One step we have taken to help address this is to develop a 'Senior Readiness Program'. This program is designed to support Occupational Therapists to develop their skills and experience so that they can progress to become a Senior Occupational Therapist

For Senior Occupational Therapist roles; As a senior member of the team, you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload. Working closely with families, carers and care workers, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of needs. In all that you do, you’ll promote independence, choice and control.

About You

We need professionals who are motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting.

You will need to be confident and competent in working with people with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and have experience of visiting them in their own homes or their care setting. Therefore, we are looking for Occupational Therapists who have well developed skills in professional and risk assessment, excellent communication skills and the ability to work professionally in a multidisciplinary / multi-agency context.

To be considered for shortlisting to interview your application will clearly evidence:

• Experience in supervising colleagues (support and training will be given)
• Experience of working within a social care or community focused multi-disciplinary setting
• Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments
• Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids
• Knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual, carer and family
• Continuing professional development. Applicants must have and maintain current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and adhere to the HCPC standards for conduct, performance and ethics.
