What makes Elmbridge different?
The planning, environmental health and licensing teams at Elmbridge are supported by a service wide Business Support Team. This team is made up of talented, passionate people, determined to do their best work for Elmbridge. We are recruiting 2 team leaders, each with a particular discipline focus to manage part of the Business Support team responsible for providing administrative and technical support.
As one of the team leaders in the Business Support Team, you will each manage a competitive team who are responsible for processing the administration and technical functions of Planning and Environmental Health. Each team varies in the work they do; however, the overall goal is to support the wider Planning and Environmental Health department.
You will have experience in Planning or Environmental Health. You may currently be working as a technical officer and are looking for the next stage in your career. Any experience of line managing is a bonus, however, not essential; you will be fully supported and mentored in this area.
These roles are new and as a result of a re-structure. You will be working closely with the Business Support Manager and your respective team leaders on various projects as well as overseeing the day to day management of your own team.
You will need to be enthusiastic, proactive and keen to take on new challenges. As you would expect, excellent communication skills are important, as well as the ability to remain calm with customers who may be angry or upset. Your ability to understand and clearly explain complex rules will be important.
