About the Role
To lead and supervise the Homeless Prevention Officers and the Housing Register work stream. In this fast-paced role you will ensure the Homeless Prevention and Housing Register Service meets the statutory duties of the council and ensure that they are delivered in a clear and transparent way in line with best practice and the Housing legislative framework. The role is wide and varied providing plenty of challenge, whilst working with a supportive and friendly Housing team.
About the Person
You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a good team player and be able to work on your own initiative. A commitment to providing high standards of customer service, with the skill and discipline to deliver this across a varied workload and to work to deadlines, are essential.
We are looking for a positive, supportive, flexible, and innovative individual that can engage well with staff and members of the public and ideally have good staff management skills.
You will have an excellent knowledge of Parts VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and contribute to the successful implementation and performance of the Homelessness Strategy.
You will work collaboratively with other partners including housing associations, police, social services, substance treatment agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
