Salary range £21,076 to 27,049 per annum

Fixed term for 36 months

We have two vacancies for an apprentice to join our Finance Team based in Staines-upon-Thames.

The Finance Team is going through an exciting restructure to provide additional added value support to our frontline services and the support services that assist the Council to deliver its services to the residents of our borough.

One apprentice will initially be assigned to the Service Accountants team, which is responsible for budget setting and budget monitoring within Council, who’s aim is to be a critical friend and supporter to our Budget Managers.

One apprentice will initially be assigned to the Treasury Management & Capital Accounting team, who focus on managing our cash back reserves, ambitious capital programme and statutory reporting.

Both apprentices will also spend time with our Income and Payments team who handle millions of pounds worth of transactions each week.

Over time, the apprentices will change roles to gain experience of the each of the key elements that make up our dynamic department.

The apprentice will be enrolled on an apprenticeship training course at an appropriate level with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy.

We are seeking individuals who are motivated by delivering outcomes to help our Budget Managers make a difference.

This post is identified as a hybrid post supporting both office and home working in line with Spelthorne Borough Council’s policy. The post holder will be required to attend the office in line with a rota and any service requirements.
