The starting salary for this position is £46,634 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

Our administrative bases are in Reigate (Woodhatch Place), in Lewes (County Hall) and in Hove (Town Hall). Some travel to the other offices is required from time to time.
Orbis is a shared services partnership between Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.6bn with external suppliers on everything from software to social care services and from cleaning products to sports equipment. Therefore, we have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensure we source our contracts in an open, fair and transparent way.
Our Systems Manager will be responsible for the effective and reliable operation of all the computer systems, associated applications and software used by Orbis Procurement. They will be responsible for ensuring that administration across all the systems is appropriate, efficient and effective, and that user feedback is considered when making improvements.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate and evidence capability and knowledge in the following areas:
- Systems support, advice and training
- Working with suppliers and stakeholders
- System upgrades and associated testing
- Evaluating the needs of the users
- Keeping abreast of the latest advances in technology
- Software licensing laws
- Contingency planning
- Taking ownership for the smooth running of all IT systems
- Designing and implementing maintenance procedures and contributing to IT policy and quality standards
