Countywide Practice Educator
The starting salary for this permanent role is £41,127 to £45,519 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. The position can be based at any of the quadrant offices (Guildford, Woking, Walton on Thames or Redhill) as it is a countywide role.
Surrey County Council Children's Services are continuing on their journey of transformation with them having recently been graded by Ofsted as Requires Improvement to be Good, with ‘Leaders being determined to continue the trajectory of improvement, building on strong partnerships and routinely taking children’s views into account as part of service development’.
To achieve their vision, the Council is working to support, guide and assess students who are from the ten different universities that Surrey Children’s Services work with. The countywide Practice Educator will liaise and work closely with the universities to the benefit of the students, so that they have a variety of learning opportunities whilst on placement.
In addition, the countywide Practice Educator facilitates the regular Student Group and the Practice Educator Support Group, undertaking additional sessions for those undertaking their PEPS training.
You will need to have experience of this role, as you will be responsible for being the Practice Educator for up to twenty students a year from a variety of universities.
To be shortlisted to interview, your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence:
- A Social Work qualification such as a Degree, Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work
- Must be PEPS2 qualified
- Experience of working with children, young people and their families within a statutory setting
- Registered with Social Work England
- Hold a valid UK driver's license and have access to a vehicle
