Are you passionate about design? Do you want to work in a role that makes a difference?

If so, then come and join Surrey County Council's Brand and Design Team!

We are looking for an experienced Design Studio Manager to join our team of 4 professional designers. In this role, you will support the whole council with creative solutions for campaigns that provide information to staff and residents.

We have a large and varied workload, ranging from traditional print to digital/online/animation graphics, across a range of platforms, and are always looking for new, exciting and engaging ways to reach our staff and residents. We work on Macs using Creative Cloud design software and you can see some of our work on our portfolio.

As part of a larger Communications and Engagement Team, we work across internal communications, public affairs, and resident engagement and often with other public sector partners across Surrey when developing our campaigns for Surrey residents.

In this role you will be the key point of contact for commissioning all design work. This will involve co-ordinating and managing the workloads that come through the Design Team, along with any freelance support, allowing the timely response of deadline focused work. You will provide professional and expert advice to clients about design and print options for each job, as well as maintaining good networks and relationships with both internal and external clients. We are looking for someone who can operate to tight deadlines and is experienced in design; you will have the ability to use the full range of Creative Cloud software.

Alongside the above, you will manage the organisation’s Print Management contract and will evaluate and implement business systems to ensure the team are working as efficiently as possible, allowing for client enquiries to be dealt with promptly and accurately.

To be shortlisted to interview, your personal statement will clearly evidence:

  • The ability to manage workflows in a creative design environment
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite
