  • Working Pattern: Full Time
  • Hours: 36.0 hours per week
  • Salary: £46,634 - £52,625 per annum
  • DBS Check: Yes
  • Location: Camberley

The starting salary for this role is £46,634 per annum, working 36 hours per week. This is a full-time position but applications to work part-time will also be considered.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term/Secondment contract opportunity (for internal applicants interested in a Secondment, please discuss with your Line Manager before submitting your application).

As part of our greener future strategies and our commitment to creating a healthy work-life balance, we welcome a conversation with you regarding our remote working options. Remote working to us is a balance of spending time in our communities, our offices and working from home or wherever works best. As a part of an acute hospital we operate a rota system which is a combination of home working, office based and duty.

The Hospital service runs from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. In practice you are likely to be required to work a minimum of one weekend shift per month and one late shift per week. Staff who are on the rota to work a shift falling on a weekend will be given a day off in lieu. Full-time applicants will be contracted to work a 36-hour week and these hours will be worked on a rota basis across 7 days a week.

Applicants must hold a valid Driving Licence and have access to a car.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Hospital Team, where promoting choice and control is at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager who can demonstrate a high level of understanding and commitment to the personalisation agenda. You will also have an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act and the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework.

You will be an excellent communicator and demonstrate the skills and ability to manage and support the day to day running of a busy, dynamic team, effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations. You will be confident in making sound decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs that arise in a high-pressure acute hospital environment. You will be able to develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families and positive relationships with professional health staff both within and outside the hospital.

You will support the manager to deliver high quality personalised adult social care and support timely, safe and effective hospital discharges. You must have significant post qualification experience, including experience in a social care setting, and be able to demonstrate good understanding of both the health and social care agendas.

A key accountability of the role is developing staff practice and therefore applicants must be able demonstrate evidence of providing effective professional supervision to less experienced colleagues.

You must also be able to demonstrate an applied and effective knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults’ procedures and be able to evidence this. You will have an understanding and commitment to supporting carers and a demonstrable commitment to providing management that supports and promotes Surrey County Council’s equality and diversity policy.

Applicants must hold a professional social work, occupational therapy, nursing or other relevant allied health qualification, have completed any post qualification practice or training requirements, and have current professional registration with their relevant registration authority.

You will need to have competent IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems.

You will need to have the willingness and ability to travel across Surrey in accordance with the demands of the work and the job profile. Therefore, a full UK driving licence and access to a motor vehicle is essential.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
