Specialist Housing Options Officer

An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen in the Housing Options Team to work as a Specialist Housing Options Officer.
The Specialist Housing Options Officers help vulnerable housing options clients to maintain their tenancies or provide the necessary support to help them make a success of new tenancies.
Clients can often be in crisis following homelessness and have a wide range of support needs. The team assess the Council’s homelessness duties towards customers and then work closely with a range of other statutory and voluntary agencies such as Social Service, the Police, Domestic Abuse Outreach, DWP, Children’s Centres, Citizens Advice Waverley, school link workers and health professionals.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a specialist team and deliver a vital service to vulnerable homeless clients
It also provides an opportunity to work both within and across Council teams, as well as with other statutory and voluntary agencies.
We need someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and who can demonstrate a good understanding of the issues faced by homeless clients and the Council’s legal duties to them.
The role is fixed term for 3 years. It is a full time post, 37 hours per week; however all applications will be considered.
