The starting salary for this position is £26,080 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

Our newly redesigned workforce is integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future and we are looking for a Future Benefits Assistant Officer to join our Service Delivery Team.

Reporting directly to the Future Benefits Manager you will predominantly undertake operational work with specific responsibility for Future Benefits which includes:

  • Calculating early leaver benefits (deferred, transfers in and out, aggregation and refunds of contributions)
  • Checking and actioning diary reports
  • Making payments using automated payments system

Your ability to demonstrate our Vision and Mission and work within a "one pensions team" culture is crucial to our success. Taking a holistic "one pensions team" approach will drive opportunities for all staff to increase their career opportunities by broadening experience across the whole of the Pension service.

To be shortlisted for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement should clearly evidence the following: 

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the administration of defined benefit pension schemes. Experience in the Local Government Pension Scheme would be helpful.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manipulate and reconcile financial data
  • I.T proficiency particularly Excel.
