 About the role

 Havering’s commercial property portfolio is wide and varied that include retail shops, community halls, leisure and sports facilities, parks, allotments, telecoms, nurseries, agricultural and operational properties etc. These properties not only provide vital services to the local community but also a valuable income revenue stream that helps fund critical services to its residents.

These properties are managed internally by the Property Services team who have a vacancy for a Senior Surveyor who will provide a wide range of estate management services to the team that will include rent reviews, lease renewals, licence applications, marketing and letting of vacant property, property handback, schedule of conditions, dilapidations, lease enforcement, void and debt management etc. Critically, there will be a strong emphasis on property valuation and the production of clear, concise and robust valuation reports, primarily focussing on the retail portfolio but with a view to taking on work from other property assets

About you

Ideally you will have 2 years RICS post qualification experience or have extensive experience in the commercial property field. Excellent working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation, working knowledge of Health and Safety issues, and a good understanding of building structures would also be an advantage.  

To be able to adapt, develop and maintain constructive relationships at all levels both internally, our customers and cabinet members .

You should be able to think innovatively when complex issues arise and identify solutions when advice is not readily available
