The starting salary for this role is £46,634 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

About the Role
In response to a thriving public health analytics programme, we are looking for a Public Health Intelligence Manager to join our expanding Public Health Intelligence and Insight Team.
We know exactly who we are looking for and are keen to hear from all those who support our way of working and can meet the requirements of the job description attached below. You will be passionate about the use of advanced analytics as evidence within needs assessments as they will lead on specific areas of Surrey's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. You will thrive on the coaching and development of staff as, in time, you will be directly line managing a small number of analysts.
You will also enjoy balancing a variety of responsibilities and priorities as your work will be a blend of analysis, reporting, project management and line management; and will focus on a mix of geographical areas, population cohort groups and health and wellbeing issues.
You will be supportive of our scriptable and reproducible approach to data processing and intelligence reporting. You will also be strong at working with at least one software or application that supports this approach, such as R, Python or SQL. You should also have experience of using Tableau for data visualisation
You should be able to demonstrate experience of designing and specifying complex analyses using a range of methodologies relevant to the analysis of healthcare and public health data. Your previous work should demonstrate how this has helped shape commissioning and wider decision-making.
Experience of drawing together diverse sources of information to provide data analysis, interpretation, and presentation, will be key in this role. We are looking for someone with strong quantitative research skills and some experience or knowledge of using qualitative methodologies. You will need to provide specialised advice on public health intelligence and statistics and be willing to develop qualitative work that may involve analysing the views of local communities and organisations. This should be coupled with a good understanding of the wider determinants of health.
You should look forward to collaborative working and developing partnerships with a range of stakeholders including those in the NHS, Local Authorities and the Community and Voluntary Sector. You will work with these key stakeholders to obtain, analyse, explain and publish information which contributes to our understanding of factors that influence health and wellbeing, and health inequalities, in Surrey. You will need experience of presenting to a range of different audiences, and be happy to present on behalf of the Public Health Intelligence and Insight Team
