At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

Our long-term vision for the borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four-Year Plan and work towards publication of a new Local Plan.

We have ambitious housing targets to seek to meet. Our job is to ensure that new homes and jobs are not just delivered, but that they are of the highest quality, that they respond to the challenges of climate change and that they are supported by the right infrastructure and investment.

In this role you will provide planning contributions expertise, helping to secure and deliver infrastructure across the borough to support future development. You will be responsible for the efficient collection, monitoring and allocation of CIL and S106 contributions. You will provide expert advice on CIL and S106 to senor management, colleagues and elected Members. You will engage positively with infrastructure provides and local communities and build up the confidence and trust in the service.

You will be the essential link between the Place Development Service and infrastructure providers within and outside the Council, ensuring co-ordination between the delivery of new development and growth and the provision of additional infrastructure requirements emerging through the new Local Plan.

You will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and you will have exciting opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from other council services. You will be responsible for the annual Infrastructure Funding Statement and contribute to Authority Monitoring Reports.

You will help to shape future changes to developer contributions policy, the Council’s CIL charging schedule and infrastructure delivery plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and committed team and we look forward to receiving your application. For an informal discussion regarding this opportunity please contact Ian Mawer – Planning Policy Manager on 01372 732402.
