Two Positions available:

Are you an enthusiastic, hardworking, team-player looking for a new role in democratic services?

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Borough Council playing a key role in supporting all the Council Committees, as well as providing support to councillors and senior management at the heart of the Council’s decision-making as we begin to work in collaboration with Guildford Borough Council.

We are looking to appoint two highly motivated Democratic Services Officers with experience of working in a committee services role in a local authority or similar organisation. One position will be permanent, and one will be fixed-term for 12 months. Please state in your application which is your preferred contract type.

Working as part of a small and busy team in a challenging and stimulating environment, you will be organised, accurate and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ideally, you will have experience of Modern.Gov or a similar agenda management system and be confident in using IT to deliver the team’s services.

You will be committed and flexible in your approach, and be prepared to attend evening meetings, for which a flexible application of your working hours will apply.

These posts are both full-time roles. However, we do offer flexible working patterns such as compressed hours, flexi-time and hybrid working.

We are a flexible and friendly organisation with a positive and supportive culture. Some of the benefits in working for us can be found here: Waverley Borough Council - Benefits of working at Waverley

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Louise Fleming, Democratic Services & Business Support Team Manager on 01483 523517.

We do not accept CVs without a completed application form. Strictly no agencies please. Please note we do not accept applications after the time given on the advert.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Monday 26 September 2022

Interview date: Week commencing 17 October 2022 (date to be confirmed)

Selection Process: Candidates will be asked to complete a test (remotely) in advance of the interview – further details will be provided if you are selected for interview.
