The starting salary for this position is £41,127 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

The role is offered as a two year fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity. 

Surrey County Council is seeking to recruit a motivated Public Health Lead in Health Improvement with strong public health skills and a real commitment to improving population health. In this role, you will lead on Children and Young People’s Suicide Prevention and develop the children and young people’s suicide prevention partnership. The position will matrix work within the County Council Public Health team and with system partners.

The Public Health team in Surrey is a forward-looking and growing team with a strong focus on developing and delivering improvements to the health and wellbeing of our county's population and reducing health inequalities.

This Public Health Lead will also support the implementation of relevant parts of the Surrey Health and Wellbeing Strategy across organisations and communities and will input into the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment processes.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about public health and keen to develop their skills. We are supportive of people who wish to pursue the Public Health Practitioners programme.

The vacancy is for a full-time, fixed term post but applicants wishing to work part-time or job-share (paid pro-rata) or looking for a secondment opportunity will also be considered.
