Are you eager to develop a career in our Customer Services Centre?
Are you looking for a role with variety and the opportunity to deliver a high standard of service to our customers across the Borough?
Would you like to be part of an experienced and enthusiastic team?
We are looking for an enthusiastic Customer Services Officer with excellent communication skills who will take ownership of the customer journey, responding promptly and effectively to customer enquiries.
You will be the first point of contact for external and internal customers, responding by phone, email and in person to enquiries relating to a wide range of Council services, resolving or escalating these as necessary and updating customer records accordingly.
This is an excellent platform for you to progress your professional career in Customer Services.
To be eligible for the salary increase/career grade progression, you must meet your Performance Agreement Targets as part of our Career Development Plan and comply with the Council’s code of conduct.
We are recruiting one full time post, 37 hours per week. However, all applications will be considered.
We recognise the importance of a good work-life balance and want to make sure all our staff feel supported and appreciated. As an employee of the council there are many benefits you will get on top of your salary.
Holidays and flexitime
We offer all our employees a generous annual leave allowance and staff also are entitled to flexitime where time is accrued. They can also apply for flexible working. The annual entitlement for a full-time member of staff in this post is 22 days (plus bank holidays and three extra days between Christmas and New Year). This rises to 27 days after five years of continuous local government service. You can also accrue flexitime (subject to authorisation) so that you can add to your holiday entitlement and / or take some time back in emergencies or for unplanned events.
Everyone is automatically opted into the pension scheme. Employee contributions will depend on annual pay and range from 5.5% to 10.5% of gross salary, depending on the pay band. Waverley contributes 17.2% of your salary to your pension. This is above the national average of private sector schemes. The scheme also provides a range of excellent benefits including a pension based on final salary, life insurance and dependants' benefits. It is also secure because its benefits are defined and guaranteed in law.
