The starting salary for this role is £41,127 per annum for working 36 hours per week. This is a 6-month secondment / fixed term contract.

This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week every week. We’re less about you driving to work every day and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of services for children and young people in Surrey. Your project management expertise, knowledge of children’s services and experience working with stakeholders will be instrumental to our success in this role.

The Business Support service is looking to recruit a Project Manager on a secondment or fixed term basis to undertake a review of administration processes in the Safeguarding Children Unit.

The Safeguarding Children Business Support Team provides administrative support to child protection conferences and looked after children reviews (along with other statutory tasks) as well as to the LADO service which investigates allegations against people working with children.

Previous project experience is essential along with the ability (and demonstrable experience) to support stakeholders and take a proactive approach to your work. You should be confident taking the lead on project management activities, resolving issues (escalating where necessary) and focussing relentlessly on the overall programme outcomes.

Working with Business Managers, the Business Support Team and other key stakeholders, you will help develop the project plan and take responsibility for the day to day management of the project, ensuring completion to agreed cost, time and quality criteria.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Experience of project management work
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Your innovation and flexibility to find solutions to issues
  • Evidence of building positive relationships with stakeholders
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
