The starting salary for this position is £29,291 per annum for 36 hours per week based at Epsom General Hospital, Dorking Road, Epsom, KT18 7EG. The work involves travelling within Surrey and also other parts of the county. Therefore you will need to be a car driver and have access to a car.
Our service runs from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday. In practice you are likely to be required to work a minimum of one weekend shift per month and one late shift per week. Staff who are on the rota to work a shift falling on a weekend will be given a day off in lieu. Full time applicants will be contracted to a 36 hour week and these hours will be worked on a rota basis across 7 days a week. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Social Care Assistant based within the Adult Social Care team at Epsom General Hospital. This role also requires cover for Epsom and St. Helier Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to build on existing skills and to gain experience of working in a hospital setting. Working within the team, you will be liaising closely with the NHS to understand and make a difference to people being discharged from hospital. You will gain a deeper knowledge of the continuing care process and integrated health and Social care, and how this looks in practice.

You will have an important role in the team helping to deliver high quality personalised adult social care and supporting timely, safe and effective hospital discharges. You will be part of a team and have access to direction, support and supervision from a Supervisor (in some cases a qualified Social Worker). You will have frequent direct contact with the public on the phone as well as visiting them in on the ward, in their own home or care setting. Your role will involve a variety of tasks including assessing people’s needs and carrying out regular reviews.
This role includes duty work and attending ward multi-disciplinary meetings and family meetings.
