Senior Building Control Surveyor
Following internal promotions, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Building Control Surveyor. The position is located within a fully staffed small friendly established team of qualified Level 6 Surveyors, and will function within a newly formed partnership in Northwest Surrey.
You will ideally be fully qualified, however consideration will also be given to suitably experienced staff working towards a recognised qualification, for which the council will provide the necessary support. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and be responsible (with the assistance of the Principal Surveyor) for all Building Control related works within a defined geographical area within the borough.
The Council aspire to provide a quality customer focussed service, have been QA accredited for a number of decades and you will be expected to work within this culture. As with many Building Control jobs, the post will be mostly home based, with weekly office duty and daily site visits.
The primary duties of the post will be examination and determination of plans in accordance with KPI time periods, daily site inspections, enforcement of Building Regulations, attendance and management of dangerous structures and demolition sites.
We are seeking applicants with a good level of literacy, numeracy and strong IT skills; together with the ability to make clear concise and accurate decisions under pressure. You will ideally be a member or working towards membership of RICS, CABE or CIOB, and a current full driving licence and access to a car for business purposes are required.
