Communications and Engagement Manager
We’re bringing extra experience into our Communications team, and are recruiting a seasoned operator with significant skills in communications and engagement activity.
If you have at least three years’ recent experience working in one or both of these areas, ideally in the public sector, or in a field which deals regularly with councils, Runnymede wants to hear from you.
The JD and person spec set out the expectations, but you’ll be confident, creative and curious, and enjoy finding ways to add value to the Council.
You’ll have experience of planning communications and engagement campaigns and be able to advocate for organised evidence-based activity rather than ‘sending out stuff’.
We’ll expect you to have a thorough understanding of the online platforms and skills necessary to deliver in your field, and you’ll need to be comfortable meeting residents face to face and being identifiable as a member of staff.
This is a great role for someone who has strong professional communications and engagement skills who is looking to move into a management position. You will be the number two in the Communications team, and you’ll be supported to develop as a manager within the organisation.
You’ll have a wide remit and scope to shape the role, your day to day work and priorities for yourself and the Council and will deputise for the service lead where needed.
Runnymede already has a strong reputation among our residents and partners, and we’re looking for you to help us build on that with your ideas, experience and enthusiasm.
