Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? In a role where you’ll be able to learn new skills, working in a friendly team? If so, we have the opportunity for you!

We’re recruiting for a new member of our Housing team, for a role which is:

  • Ideal for someone looking to build on their existing experience and develop their skills.
  • A key part of a friendly and supportive team.
  • Flexible, enabling you to manage your own workload.
  • Challenging but incredibly rewarding.

About the role

Working primarily within our Housing Needs service, you will be a key member of our front-line team responsible for:

  • Managing our Housing Needs Register, for residents in the district who need low cost rented accommodation.
  • Administering Homechoice, our choice-based lettings scheme, which allows residents to search, apply and bid for social rented properties in the district. This will include advertising properties, shortlisting bids, verifying applications and affordability assessments.
  • Allocating social housing in the district, including our own stock.
  • Preparing tenancy agreements, accompanying residents to view properties and arranging signing of council tenancies.
  • Coordinating, verifying and administering Mutual Exchange applications, which enable residents to swap homes with other council or housing association tenants.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working in housing or a related field.
  • Are passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
  • Are resourceful, flexible and used to managing your own workload through to successful outcomes.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are organised with an eye for detail and able to work under pressure.
  • Like using creativity to solve challenging problems.

Some of your time will be spent visiting properties around our district, so you will need to be confident working on your own initiative. You will need a full driving licence and use of a vehicle.

You may occasionally also be required to support other teams and areas of work.
