Runnymede Borough Council (RBC) has an exciting opportunity in our ever-evolving Community Services Business Unit and we are looking for a highly motivated and professional Community Service Manager, with a proven track record of working effectively in partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.  RBC provides a range of services including Community Transport, Day Centres, Meals, Community Alarm and Telecare, Social Prescribing, and a Home Improvement Agency to residents of Runnymede.  We also work in partnership with Surrey Heath Borough Council delivering consistent levels of services across two Surrey boroughs.

This role is responsible for leading the operational delivery of community services to residents, by providing management support to service managers/supervisors and leadership for the continued development of existing, and implementation of new, opportunities.  The role will be directly involved in the management and delivery of the Council’s Home Improvement Agency, including supporting residents through the delivery of the Council’s Disabled Facilities Grant programme.  Consequently, experience in home assistance, grant management or promoting the independence and wellbeing of individuals is key.  In addition, the role also has senior management responsibility for the Council’s Community Transport Service, working directly with the Community Transport Manager in the development of the Council’s service offer.

If you have experience in being responsible for all aspects of operational service delivery, as well as having experience of developing new services and implementing new projects to support Community Services coupled with the enthusiasm to provide our residents an impeccable service then this job is for you.  Runnymede are also expanding its offer within existing services and in providing new services to residents of all ages, in order to support them in continuing to live independently at home and remain active within their local community. Experience in the management of assets would also be an advantage given that you will be responsible for several council buildings and a fleet of vehicles.

The role includes deputising for the Corporate Head & Deputy Head of Community Services as and when required and to work in partnership with others including Adult Social Care, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other borough councils.
