Job Title: Data Analyst & Coordinator
Location of work: Reigate Town Hall but accommodates Hybrid Working
Salary: £31,644 - £34,062
Basis: Fixed term (ending 31/03/2023), Full time
About the Role
This role will form part of the newly-formed corporate Data & Insight team. The team aims to shape the way the Council uses data and research to inform policy, support service improvement, increase income and achieve better outcomes for our residents and customers. You’ll take part in discovery work, innovative analysis and insight generation within an energetic, experimental and responsible environment.
A whizz with data tools like Excel, you’ll have a logical mind that appreciates the importance of good data quality, standards, processes, whilst also comfortable performing analysis to reveal meaningful insights. You will be the team’s champion for collecting, cleaning and preparing data ready for analysis. You’ll lead on the training and support of end-users across the Council.
Whilst predominantly a technical role, you should be a good communicator, able to work with a range of people to enable them to develop their knowledge and understanding of the power of data and how it can be used to support the work of the council.
About the Person
- Experience of working in a data environment
- Strong understanding of the principles of data management
- Good general IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- A keen eye for detail
- Able to convey complex topics in a straight-forward way
- Strong appetite to learn
