The starting salary for this role is £24,780 per annum and is based on a 36 working hour week.
As a business support for the Surrey Children’s Services Workforce Academy you will be joining the Quality Performance division at a time of significant change, as we transform our Children’s Services. We have a new management in place and are implementing innovative approaches to what we do to deliver our vision. We are now looking to grow the business support within the academy to support the learning journey of developing the workforce of the council and its partners.
About the role
We are looking for a full time Administrator to work in this varied and interesting role within the Children, Families and Learning Business Support Team initially based at Fairmount House in Leatherhead working in the Surrey Children’s Services Academy.
You will be highly organised and willing to take responsibility and use initiative. You should also be comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. You will make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for the processes and teams you support and, as a Senior Administrator, you will support more junior staff to ensure daily workflow is completed to timescales.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communication skills. You will have experience of working with highly confidential information in a customer focused environment and be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Base Location: initially Leatherhead. Please note that the Leatherhead office will be relocating at some point in 2023 and that council staff will be working in an increasingly agile way. A willingness to travel across the county is required as part of this role.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a solid background in administration
- Has experience of working in a busy office environment
- Has experience of managing workflow and/or leading more junior staff
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills
- Is confident, organised and able to implement a proactive approach to your work
- Has excellent IT skills and is proficient in using Microsoft Office
