Emergency Planning, Resilience and Safety Officer
Waverley is one of the largest of the eleven District and Borough Councils in Surrey covering a rural area with four main areas of population, Cranleigh, Farnham, Godalming and Haslemere.
This presents its own unique set of challenges when it comes to emergency and resilience planning, and the Council has a central role to play in supporting the community in times of need and promoting preparedness and resilience in the community. Over recent years this has involved responding to severe flooding, snow, foot and mouth disease and heathland fire among others!
We are looking for a confident and organised individual with a sound knowledge of emergency planning, business continuity and health and safety best practice, who can fulfil this role. In return, Waverley can offer you a real opportunity to make a difference as well as an excellent pay and benefits package.
The successful applicant will act as the Council’s advisor on Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and Corporate Health and Safety. The role is responsible for developing and implementing policies and systems to ensure that the Council is fully prepared for its role in the event of an emergency and in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of it’s staff.
This post is a full-time role, 37 hours per week. However, all applications will be considered.
