The starting salary for this role is £53,018 per annum, working 36 hours per week. This role will be based remotely at home rather than in an office.

The Surrey IT & Digital Strategy and Engagement team is looking to recruit a User Researcher to join a team of Digital, Agile and Engagement professionals.
Our User Researchers plan, design, and carry out research activities with users that help Surrey County Council get a deep understanding of the people that use our services. This research informs policy, proposition, service, content, and interaction design so that services work well for users.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and responsible for planning and carrying out user research activities, which contribute to successful service delivery. You will help to develop user-centred practices and use research activities to inform service design. Drawing on a wide range of methods to collect, analyse user data, and synthesis findings.
To be shortlisted for interview, your application will clearly evidence:
- Experience of carrying out various types of research both virtually, and in person. With single candidates and groups
- Demonstrable ability to synthesise research findings into meaningful insights to inform the development of services or applications
- That you possess good interpersonal skills, being able to deal compassionately about potentially sensitive subjects and being able to obtain the confidence of individuals or groups is a key attribute we are looking for.
- That you are naturally inquisitive and experienced at investigating the root or underlying causes which will help us to best meet user needs.
- Experience of presenting research findings to stakeholders in order to inform decisions and set our direction in designing services
