The starting salary for this role is £32,896 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

Based at one of four quadrants, being either Guildford (South West), Redhill (South East), Walton-upon-Thames (North East) or Woking (North West).

The Surrey Children's Services Academy has created bespoke learning programmes for Newly Qualified Social Workers undertaking their ASYE, which ensures that everyone is well supported and supervised by experienced Team Managers.

As a Newly Qualified Social Worker, you will receive a development programme over the year that will consist of targeted training that will build your knowledge base, the opportunity to attend monthly learning events and have reflective supervision sessions provided by your Team Manager and ASYE Assessor.

Your induction will be multiagency, emphasising the importance of working closely and collaboratively with partner agencies. You will be supported through the year, with a caseload that reflects your newly qualified status which builds in number and complexity during the year.

Your ASYE Assessor will be an Advanced Social Worker in the quadrant you are placed in, they will manage your progress and guide you in areas of practice and development identified for you.

To be shortlisted to interview, your CV will clearly evidence:

  • A Social Work qualification such as a Degree, Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work
  • Experience of working with children, young people and their families, e.g. voluntary work/transferable work experience skills, etc.
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Hold a valid UK driver's license and have access to a vehicle
  • You should have qualified within two years of the next NQSW cohort commencing at the end of September 2022. If you qualified earlier than October 2020 your application will not be considered
