Deputy Environmental Services Manager (Maternity Cover)

Up to 12-months fixed-term contract

You will be required to manage and monitor the operational activity of the Council’s external Waste Management Service's contractors as well as monitoring and reporting on the contract budgets. You will also manage a team of four Environmental Enforcement and Monitoring Officers.

This is a vital role supporting the Environmental Services Manager in achieving the Council’s objectives and statutory targets for refuse, recycling, street cleaning services and environmental enforcement.

It is also an exciting time to join us as you will be required to assist with the development of a Zero Waste Strategy for the Council as part of its Carbon Neutrality Action Plan. 

This post is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, for a period of up to twelve months to provide maternity cover for the current postholder. However, all applications will be considered.
