At Epsom & Ewell, we aspire to deliver high quality services to our residents. We might be small, but we have big plans to serve our population of 80,000 residents. We are investing in our future, increasing strategic capacity, and exploring new ways of working.

Our long-term vision for the Borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four Year and Recovery Plans.

The Grounds Maintenance Operative is a role which provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to utilise and develop their grounds maintenance skills while enhancing the Borough, the Council, and their own professional portfolio.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated person to join our small team of cemetery staff and provide an important service to bereaved families.

The focus of this role is to carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance duties in a sensitive environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous grounds maintenance experience ideally within a cemetery or crematorium environment and be prepared, if necessary, to undergo further training to achieve industry specific qualifications.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of service in sometimes, challenging circumstances.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professional and committed team and we look forward to receiving your application. For further details please contact Victoria Biggs – Cemetery Superintendent and Registrar on 01372 732490.
