Our long-term vision for the Borough tells us where we want to be and how we’re going to get there. This new role will be crucial to delivering that vision and the aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four Year and Recovery Plans.

This is a new role within the Corporate Assurance Team which is a small but busy team that covers a wide range of corporate activities. This role will help set the direction and build the Councils capability covering strategic and operational procurement as well as supporting our approach to alternative service models, contracts, and outsourcing.

You will be developing robust and effective policies, processes, and systems to support and measure our effectiveness and ensuring compliance with all legislation and regulations   You will providing advice and support for all higher level and complex procurements You will also need to provide contract management advice across the council ensuring that arrangements are in place for effective contract management as well as managing several contracts.

Experience or knowledge of producing business cases and feasibility studies for new ways of working will be required You will need to be flexible, proactive, and used to managing several projects and workstreams at the same time. A procurement or contract management qualification would be an advantage.

This role will report to the Head of Corporate Assurance, deputise for this role, and attend Committee meetings as required. This position is currently for 36 hours per week, but we will consider alternative options such as flexible working.
