Information Governance Co-ordinator
Salary £26,815 - £32,393 (dependent on experience) plus market supplement of £3,100 per year

Working in the Information Governance team in the Commissioning and Transformation Group, you will provide information governance support and guidance to council staff. The role will involve contact with officers, staff, members of the public, and councillors.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to assist the Data Protection Officer in securing the Council’s compliance with its statutory obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR), and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).
The post holder will be experienced in information governance with good technical expertise and knowledge. You’ll report to the Data Protection Officer, and in their absence, you will be the main point of contact for practical information governance advice.
The post holder is critical to the smooth running of the Information Governance Team and will play a vital role in dealing with complex enquiries, providing advice, guidance, and training with a view to improving information governance within the Council. You’ll have detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation. You’ll be able to translate information governance regulation and legislation into Plain English, ensuring that your advice is practical, employing a ‘can do’ attitude.
As a member of the wider Commissioning & Transformation Group, you’ll be an ambassador for continuous improvement, and a champion of the rights of data subjects.
The Information Governance team is based at the council’s offices at Knowle Green, Staines however the council has adopted a hybrid working policy which includes remote working depending on the needs of the service.
