The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity in our team for an enthusiastic Solicitor or Barrister with experience of SEN law who is looking to develop their career in Local Government and enhance their skills in taking on new challenges.
This key post sits within the Adults, Education, Litigation and Employment team. The post holder is expected to cover a workload of predominantly special educational needs case work, and to have experience of judicial review challenges, as well as the ability to advise senior clients on SEN matters.
The team is supportive and knowledgeable and there is a commitment to development and training our in-house talent and support for training to cover new areas of practice.
You should have recent experience in SEN law, gained in either the private or public sector. We recognise transferable skills and have a track record of supporting Lawyers to further develop their skills.
You will be trained and supported to undertake the role commensurate with your experience.
You will be expected to carry out a range of key responsibilities within the role, which will include:
- Managing a varied and interesting caseload consisting of both pre-proceedings and claims before the Court
- Undertaking advocacy, where appropriate, on behalf of the County Council
- Providing expert legal advice to the County Council

The Legal Services AELE Team is based at Woodhatch Place, Reigate; however, the Council adopts an agile working policy with flexible working arrangements which includes access to our other offices in Weybridge and Woking. This role is also open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week.
