FTC 12 Months Maternity Cover

The purpose of this role is to lead and inspire the museum team during the Museum’s Manager’s maternity leave. We are looking for an experienced and innovative individual to lead Elmbridge Museum through the next phase of its Forward Plan and ensure strategic aims are met. The key aims of the role will be to provide professional advice and management to the team; build partnerships and seek opportunities within the local community to increase access to the museum’s collection; and develop and maintain policies, plans and procedures to support the museum’s next Accreditation return.

About you

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in the management of small teams and have an understanding of how local authority museums use their collections and other resources to engage with local communities.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, diplomacy and analytical skills and be skilled at working alongside a range of stakeholders including Council staff, partners and contractors.

Knowledge of Arts Council England Accreditation requirements, strategic planning and professional sector standards is essential. The successful applicant should also be competent in budget management and have a strong track record in partnership working and project management.

Candidates must have access to a vehicle and be able to attend the museum office, and, as required, the off-site collection stores.
