Runnymede Borough Council is an excellent performing landlord, with Housemark top quartile performance for current and former tenant arrears. We are located to the west of London and our Borough is 86% Green Belt so it’s a very nice place to live and work.

Despite the pandemic our proactive support to tenants resulted in a year end rent arrears performance of 1.61%. Investment in prevention, sustainment and temporary accommodation management has also resulted in outstanding performance demonstrated by reduced reliance on emergency bed and breakfast accommodation.

We have a number of exciting projects lined up for 2021 including launching our new income management processes, applying for accreditation from the Rental Income Excellence Network, upgrading our housing management system, reviewing and modernising our older persons housing offer and embedding our Mobile Estate Warden Service and associated service charging.

To achieve our ongoing targets and aspirations we are looking to recruit a highly motivated professional to this role. You will be responsible for proactively managing approximately 750 properties, which includes general needs stock, Independent Retirement Living stock, temporary accommodation and the management of leaseholders. This will involve the postholder undertaking arrears recovery, addressing tenancy issues, completing new tenant visits, dealing with Right to Buy applications, mutual exchange applications, undertaking inspections of council stock and communal housing land as well as taking forward estate improvements. The postholder will need to have excellent customer service skills and be able to manage a complex and varied caseload.

We are seeking a motivated, resilient and flexible person to join our team.  It would be preferable if you have a CIH qualification or equivalent but this is not essential. Experience of working with tenants and dealing with a variety of tenancy related issues is a must.
