The starting salary for this position is £45,734 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

We are currently recruiting for a new role in IT & Digital and are looking for an exceptional individual to join us in an exciting new venture to create and shape a new team in Surrey County Council as advocates for IT.

We are seeking a Tech Advocate Manager to manage a team of three Tech Advocates to promote best practice and enable staff to use technology with confidence in four main areas:

  • MS Teams
  • M365
  • Devices
  • Conferencing Tech

You and your Tech Advocates will specialise in one area each and full training will be provided. You do not need to have a previous background working in IT, but strong IT skills and natural curiosity will be key. You will work alongside your colleagues in IT & Digital to enable staff to use tech to achieve their goals using face to face and virtual engagement sessions and crew a “Tech Lounge” – an onsite collaboration space.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • An inquisitive nature to understand how new tech can be used
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve their goals
  • Ability to effectively manage staff in a busy and challenging environment
  • Passionate about enabling others to fully utilise technology
  • Proactive, sociable, empathetic and friendly in nature
  • Capable of using plain English to explain complex concepts or technology features
  • Creative thinking to engage with customers using different platforms and tools
