The starting salary for this role is £27,991 per annum for a 36 hour week.
There are 2 roles available. One full time and one part time 18 hours.

It is not possible to provide great services without a fundamentally close connection with our children and families and that is why Surrey continues to implement the Family Safeguarding model. This model is strength based and includes professionals who work with adults in teams supporting children and their families. Surrey is continuing to bring together Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Recovery Workers, Mental Health Practitioners and Psychologists so that the whole team can address all the issues facing a family.

Your role as a Family Support Worker in the Emergency Duty Service is to:
- provide information to the public and other referrers about out of hours services available within Surrey for all user groups both Surrey County Council services and those provided by other agencies e.g. Health, Housing, Benefits Agency, CAB etc
- receive written and telephone enquiries and referrals to the Emergency Duty Team
- take accurate and concise information, and approach other agencies and check records to assist Duty Senior Social Workers in dealing with referrals
- record information as required on the Surrey Social Care case management system and any other database as required
- assist with maintaining resource information within the team.
Throughout all that you do, you will ensure that your team upholds and champions best practice so that together, we are focused on solving problems early and we meet the needs of our Children, Young People and their families, reducing the risk of harm.

Requirements of you as a Family Support Worker:
- NVQ level 3 or willingness to undertake training
- Experience of working with the general public in an advisory role
- Experience of working with individuals with social care needs
- Awareness of helping agencies and welfare benefits
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Able to organise and maintain accurate information systems
- IT literate
