We are looking for a friendly and outgoing individual to work at The Art Café as an Assistant Barista on a part-time, permanent basis (25 hours per week).
The Art Café at St. Mary’s is located in the centre of Byfleet and is a community focused enterprise that is centred on friendly customer service, providing high quality coffees and being as eco-friendly as possible. Very popular with locals of all ages, the café has a modern, welcoming and friendly environment and we aim to make every single customer feel at ease. The café has a beautiful garden as well as local art displayed on all the walls inside, along with lots of houseplants.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Café Co-ordinator and kitchen staff to provide a welcoming and enjoyable café experience to the public. The Assistant Barista will play a key role in the running of day-to-day service, welcoming guests to the café and gardens and making and serving coffee and other hot and cold beverages. The ideal candidate will have previous barista training or experience in the hospitality sector but a positive and hardworking attitude is most important as full training will be provided.
This role will suit someone with experience working in customer service jobs, who has a creative vision and cares for the community.
Working hours will be split across working days Wednesday to Saturday.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post. An assessment may be required. If you have any queries or would like to discuss this further, please contact the Human Resources team.
