The Town Council is seeking to recruit an experienced part-time Planning and Finance
Assistant on a permanent contract. The role will be to assist with the administration of the
Council’s two allotments sites (including liaison with plot holders), as well as assisting with
planning related matters (downloading plans) and financial matters (inputting accounts),
website/eNewsletter updates, other ad hoc projects and assisting members of the public
when necessary. The position is for 20 hours per week (expected to be 4 hours per day over
5 mornings, Monday-Friday, 9.30am- 1.30pm). There will also be a requirement to facilitate
some Council meetings which are normally held on Tuesday evenings.
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate previous administrative experience
in an office-based environment, IT skills and strong interpersonal skills. A knowledge of local
government would be desirable or a willingness to learn about it and attend training events.
