Could you use your commissioning expertise, leadership skills and understanding of complex systems to improve outcomes in Surrey?
The Strategic Commissioning Lead role offers the chance to drive transformational change by promoting a strategic approach to commissioning across the Council and the local system:
- co-producing with residents
- focusing on relationships to draw on collective capacity
- using the right data, expertise and techniques to design solutions
- thinking long-term to help move upstream of issues
- embracing opportunities to learn and continue adapting
As a vital part of the Strategic Commissioning Team, you will work with senior managers and commissioners to design services that maximise outcomes for residents within available resources: tackling inequality, empowering communities, enabling a greener future and growing a sustainable economy.
You will work in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders across Surrey to develop and implement innovative approaches to commissioning and market-shaping, ensuring they add value to priority initiatives such as our work to integrate health and care services, combat climate change and deliver social value.
You will draw on your knowledge of best practice and the latest thinking to drive improvements in commissioning activity: strengthening capabilities through a high-quality learning and development offer and enabling effective networking and collaboration.
We are looking for someone who can innovate and inspire, and who will drive collaborative commissioning with partners to support the delivery of Surrey’s vision for 2030. The successful candidate will:
- be able to build strong relationships
- be comfortable working with complexity and uncertainty
- have extensive experience of commissioning within a partnership environment
- have a proven ability to inspire and motivate others
- be able to assess risks and benefits in a complex environment, and respond appropriately
If you think that’s you, we would love to hear from you. For more information please find the job description below and refer to this before submitting your application.
