Senior Coroner’s Officer
Are you interested in managing a team to support the Senior Coroner delivery their judicial duties?
Surrey County Council provides the administrative support to the Senior Coroner in the operation of the Coroner’s Court and importantly supporting bereaved families.
We are recruiting for a Senior Coroner’s Officer to manage small teams of Coroner’s Officers and Coroner’s Support Officers covering a defined area of the county aligned with the Hospital Trusts and Funeral Directors we work with.
In this role you will be responsible for the effective management of the referrals and cases to be progressed, ensuring the team is supported and enabled to deliver a high-quality service to bereaved families.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Experience of working within a coronial service, the police, legal profession or other investigatory or regulatory profession
- Experience of managing a small team
- Ability to build quality working relationships with key partners to ensure SLAs are met
- Confident and empathetic in working with partners and other key stakeholders, including the public
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences
