Opportunities have arisen within the Development Management team for the appointment of two, full time, senior planning officers within our experienced and busy section these positions include:
- one permanent position
- one 12 month maternity leave position

The successful applicant will support the team leader and principal officer in mentoring of planning officers and carry a case load of major/complex planning applications and work with the major applications team in delivering key housing schemes coming forward. This will include negotiating Planning Performance Agreements, delivering pre-application advice and seeking proactive solutions to enable the delivery of housing in line with the requirements of the Borough’s Local Plan. The role carries a high degree of independence, but with support from team leaders and managers available where required.
The post holder should be an experienced and qualified planner who can demonstrate an ability to deal with complex applications, dealing with various stakeholders including planning agents/developers/Councillors/members of the public.
