About the Role
As an important member of our Planning Policy team, you will be involved in shaping and delivering our new Plan right from the outset along with other planning guidance. As part of this, the successful candidate can expect to take ownership for particular topics; carry out research, commission technical evidence and draft policies. You will also assist with engaging with elected councillors, stakeholders and our residents through public consultations. The role will involve monitoring existing policies for their effectiveness, including how town and local centres are functioning and the preparation of regular monitoring reports.
About the Person
What we are looking for in the successful candidate is;
- Planning professional or recent graduate taking first step onto a career in planning.
- Behaviours: Motivated, capable, works well on their own and as part of a team, adaptable to the task in hand, willing to learn.
- Skills: Excellent research, interpersonal and communication skills, good attention to detail and a methodical approach to working. Working knowledge of GIS and Excel, optional good drawing skills.
- Qualifications and Experience: Town planning or related degree or qualification (ideally having obtained, or working towards, RTPI membership). Practical planning experience is desirable.
