Principal Committee Manager
Salary range £33,749 to £52,091 per annum
Looking to further your career in local government and governance? Spelthorne’s Committee Services Team is a busy team ensuring the democratic process runs smoothly.
We are looking for someone with Committee Services experience, who can work under pressure and who has a can do attitude to oversee and manage the smooth running and overall work of the Committee Services team.
Until the end of December 2020 the post will be the Acting Principal Committee Manager to allow for a handover period with the existing Principal Committee Manager.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses strong communication skills and has experience of dealing with complex and/or demanding responsibilities in relation to governance processes, formal decision-making committees and queries from elected members, with minimal supervision. The Council is working towards moving to a Committee system so the successful candidate will be pivotal in embedding the system into Council processes and heading up a new and larger Committee Services Team.
You will be based in the Council offices in Staines-upon-Thames, however we provide working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance including home working, dependent on service need. This role requires attendance at evening meetings (currently using video conferencing software from home) on a rota basis.
